The Lament Of The Damned

When you’ve been to the depths of hell
And come back into the light,
With death as your only companion
and sorrow as your song;
When the word that cannot be said
Has been spoken;
When all promises have been broken,
and your soul lies shattered;
When the years lie heavy on your shoulders,
and the scars of your battles stand testament to the truths you’ve found;
The road out of hell lies behind you,
But your journey has just begun.
The road to salvation is harder won.

Cheating

I think cheating is just the same as lying. Cheating is like saying you did something that you didn’t in order to win or get a grade you did not earn. Am I honest? It depends on your definition, by my standards I am. I believe in situational ethics that means that what is wrong is determined by my core values and how they affect or are affected by the current situation. I have lied and stolen in the past but no more then necessary and only when necessary and have always repaid my debts whether known or unknown to the one I owed.

It beats, it pulses, and it calls out to me beneath the warm flesh.

It’s rhythm so alluring.

Oh merciful fount I draw from you life mysterious and wonderful.

Memories, anger, love, and lust.

Life I can never have, doomed to live only through another’s eyes.

Human Nature

I have been thinking about the monks that try to purify themselves to be able to perform magic. This is stupid because trying to purify yourself for magic is in itself a selfish act. I work magic and I am not a pure man not that I am evil or corrupt I draw my power from the earth rather than directly from God. Very few can draw directly from God. It’s like trying to tap a high voltage power line you can do it but you’ll be fried. Even in the bible, God told those that asked that it would harm them. Mosses just looked on God’s power and he was aged 80 years and had to wear a vale to hide his face from then on because his face glowed. Mortal beings can’t handle that kind of power. It has been noted that those touched by God were changed that they were no longer mortal and could not remain on earth once their mission was complete. I have also been thinking about the priesthood not that I want to be one but about the recent issue of letting them marry. I think that the church should allow priest to marry because it would solved the problem of inappropriate sexual behavior in the priesthood. Sexual desire is a natural part of the human instinct and when you try to repress your instincts they have a way of coming out in undesired ways.

Being Alone

It's a strange thing being alone. As a child and a young adult it didn't seem to bother me so much. But now... My wife has only been gone for six hours and I know she will be coming back at the end of the week but I feel very alone in this house. It's funny the first time you sleep with somebody how amazing it is. I don't mean sex I'm talking about just having someone else in the bead with you. That warm presence beside you hearing their breath you can almost feel their heartbeat. At first you are awed and then slowly it becomes commonplace to you. That presence in your home, your bead, and your life. You become so used to it that when suddenly it's not there you don't know what to do. Suddenly your house, your bead, and even your car seem alien and empty. If this is what it feels like to be separated for a week then I can't imagine what it is like to have a loved one die.

About Lying

I recently had to answer a question about lying I thought about it and this is what I think about it. I believe that if you tell even one lie you are a liar does this mean you tell lies all the time no. When you tell a lie you are a liar where most people make the mistake is in mixing up a liar with a chronic liar. A chronic liar is someone who for whatever reason either cannot or will not tell the truth. Nevertheless, keep in mind there are times when it is necessary to tell a lie in order to save some one or to protect someone or something. This does not make it not wrong just the lesser of two evils.

Lying is lying no matter what.

Lying to cover for someone who did wrong is harmful for both you and the one who did wrong. It is harmful for them because you are condoning their behavior and in a way encouraging them by allowing them to escape the consequences of their actions. It is harmful for you personally because you know what they did and you know they will likely do it agene making you as responsible for what happens as they are.

Lying or omitting certain details to protect the innocent or elderly from harm is still lying but in this case it is necessary. Sometimes it is more harmful and unnecessary for someone to know what someone they loved did especially if that person is no longer alive. It is better for them to remember them as they believed them to be than for them to know and to know there was nothing they could have done to change things.

Blind Children

What is it with people and blind children? We went out to eat lunch today and the place we went to had a new waitress that wasn't familiar with my son Cameron. What happened is pretty standard and ordinarily I am not bothered by it but today it just bugged the hell out of me. The waitress was making faces and waving at Cam and got miffed that he wasn't paying attention to her. When I noticed and said he couldn't see her and that she would have to say something for him to notice her she jumped back and started apologizing and making a big scene. She went on and on about how sorry she was for him and how did we manage. What bothers me is this we don't treat Cam any different then any other kids He was born blind and right now he doesn't know any different. Were not trying to hide the fact that he is blind the truth is we are very matter-of-fact about. We just don't want other people treating him like it's something horrible that he can't see. He is a very active three year old being blind hasn't stopped him from doing anything he decides he wants to.
